Where have the years gone?

To be honest I don't even know where to begin to start catching up with this blog. I can tell you what brought me back to looking at and for this blog.  I was trying to remember what year we actually moved into our house. Now I can proudly say June, 2012!!! Once again it is amazing to me that we have been out on this mountain for coming up on six years already. Where did those six years go?  As I look at the past pictures and laugh until I cried at some of the stories I have written, it all seems like yesterday.
SOOOO, let me give you a report of those last missing years!!!! I did make it through all of my general education classes, I was accepted into nursing school, and I graduated in May 2017. Let me tell you, child birth is 1000 times easier than nursing school!!!  I made it, I am now a Registered Nurse. Nursing school defiantly makes you a stronger person than you realize you are, and I am glad it is over. Don't know if I mentioned it or not, but I have been working in Springdale since 2015, and stayed with the company and become a floor RN. I do love my job and that's why I'm working on three years with the same company. My boys are getting older, Ryan will be in high school next year and Andrew will be in middle school...once again.. where did that time go?
Other than that.. Life keeps moving forward here at the Manor... I promise to start working on this blog again more.......

Stress and confusion!

I have survived my first eight week class of A&P I, and received an A grade. I only have another eight weeks of A&P II and Microbiology left. I'm making an A so far in Micro, and A&P II doesn't start until this Wednesday.  The goal is to make A's in both classes, that will bring all classes required for the nursing college GPA to a 4.0.  I also turned in my application for the nursing college in this month, and will know by or on December 23 if I have been accepted to the nursing college.

Was super proud of Ryan at his 9 weeks report card, he had straight A's too!  As they advance in the harder math, he's still doing well, and I am proud of him for that. Andrew is doing well in school too. Both boys are really good at spelling, and I have NO IDEA who they received that gene from.

Don't know if I have mentioned that I have went back to work over at the Gravette hospital, only 2 nights a week this time, and very limited over time for now.

Not much of an update, but that is really all that is going on. So, I will update more when I have more.

I have no idea for a title.....

As I look at this blog, I see that it is sadly neglected. But I will move forward with this update! Ryan is in the fifth grade, and Andrew is in first grade. I will be applying for the nursing college in October of this year. I have decided to take a couple of classes again, just to get the A, I should have gotten the first time, and as usual life is still crazy here at the Gregerson Manor.
Let me back track to earlier this spring or maybe late spring, we decided to redo the chicken coop. This turned into the never ending project for Eric, and to a small degree for me as well. The "Chicken Mansion" was finally finished Sept. 7, and our neighbor brought over five laying hens for us. We received our first egg on Sept. 10, and the amount grew over time to four a day, BUT today Sept. 22 we received a total of five eggs.
This is Tiny one of our five starter hens.
She is so funny, I think she is my favorite actually. I didn't realize chickens could be so full of personality. I find myself letting them out to roam, and sitting in a lawn chair and just watching them. Eric tells me, I'm turning into the crazy chicken lady!
As for the other critters we still have four dogs, one cat...OH I have a picture for her too! LOL and the two Gecko's. We lost Turtle cat earlier this year, we think she just wandered off. It was rather sad, because she would have been 16 or 17 this year. She will be missed..... by only me, but still missed.
The Queen of Gregerson Manor

This semester is rather crazy for myself. I decided to take 8 week courses of A&P... WHAT WAS I THINKING????  I know I wasn't.  BUT, so far it is going well, all I have time to do is study for the next test. It seems like we have a test every week.  Well, it is because we do!  OH, and don't forget to throw Microbiology in there.  We took our first exam today.  All I can say is, it was a rather interesting test.... Will find out Wednesday how I did.  Speaking of studying I think I have procrastinated long enough.

See ya!

2014 and backwards.

2013 has been an interesting year for my family. Eric has had 2 surgeries, the kids have been sick off and on; I finally found a job as a CNA and I have another year of college under my belt.  It has been a rough and confusing year learning how to juggle work, family, and school. I didn't do so well with Beginning Algebra last semester so I will be taking a hybrid class, to get caught back up on the math. I'm hoping to talk with the Nursing advisor to map out a better plan for myself when school starts back up.

I have also watched a friend of mine tackle a personal battle in her life, and she has came out on top and a winner. She is the strongest women I know, and I am very proud of her. She has prompted me to be more proactive on writing everyday and just keeping a small log of it all.

As I sit here and watch it snow outside I'm very thankful for a warm house, my family and my friends. West Fork is the only local school that hasn't closed as of yet. The kids already have 3 days they need to make up, and it seems they will be adding more to it.

Hopefully my posts will become more interesting as time goes on!

Summer School

Yep, that's right I decided to go to summer school, after I said I wouldn't. I'm taking English Comp II which is a 5 week class that will be wrapping up June 26, and then I'm taking Electronic Health Records, and then Medical Terminology for Health Science on line, and then I will start my PCA+ class in July. I'm glad that English will be over next week. The professor is alright, but shoving a 16 week class into a 5 week class, is a large amount of information to take in, in such a very short time. The on-line classes are going ok, but it is easier to find something else to do besides study.
The kids are out of school and home with me know. Ryan did the summer day camp through West Fork schools, and he really seemed to enjoy that. Saturday he is going to his friends house. This is the first time he has ever asked to go to a friends house. He's getting so big, and mature. Andrew is going through his independent stage and it's awful. Other than that the garden is growing well, and all is right with the world for the moment.!

June 18, 2013

Gee I don’t even know where to begin with this enlightening blog post. I wanted this post to be so close to grammatically correct, I actually took the time to type it out in Word first! This blog post is dedicated to my life of craziness on June 18, 2013. I will just start from the beginning, and keep talking.
Oscars alarm goes off at 6:30 AM, and I’m thinking the name of the song is “The Imperial Death March” from the movie Star Wars. There is one place in the alarm tone, which would scare any normal sleeping human half to death.  Needless to say, it scared the living crap out of me this morning. So, I played possum as Oscar comes in and turns it off, of course after I calm down I fall back asleep. I don’t know if I even hear him leave this morning. The next thing I hear is Lady Gaga singing “You and I” well that is the ring tone on MY phone. Of course I’m thinking well crap, do I get up or not, well by time I made my decision the phone had stopped making noise.  So, I stumble on in the living room and find my phone and wrap up in a blank, and sit down and see who had called. It was Oscar; needless to say I called him back. His first question was “what are you doing?” So I gave my normal response of “nothing, what are you doing” so we talked for a while and he hung up. IT’S COFFEE TIME, so I go make my coffee, and I’m sitting in the chair, and talked to Stephanie for awhile, and here comes Ryan, he had just woken up. Of course he goes straight to his computer and starts playing mind warp (Mind Craft) and I finish drinking my coffee having a somewhat peaceful morning. Later I get off the phone with Stephanie, plunk around on Facebook, play a little Hay Day, and that addictive game Candy Crush. I get the revelation I need to go walk on my treadmill. AND THIS IS WHERE THE DAY STARTED TO GO DOWN HILL QUICKLY……..
As I was thinking about walking on the treadmill Andrew wakes up, and hounds me until I make his coffee. Well his coffee is always the second run through of a K cup and a little decaffeinated coffee, lots of milk, and sugar. If I make it, anyway! Then I decide that’s it, I’m going to go get dressed and walk on that treadmill. So I went and got dressed. I consider this the SECOND mistake of my day.
As I’m plunking down the staircase, I’m thinking I need to get those cats that don’t have hair, or I need to vacuum off the stair. The stairs are the ONLY place I have carpet in my house and for some reason everything collects on those 15 stairs. I do not know why, but it does. I finally make it to the bottom of the stair and think, OK; I will take the boxes to the trash sometime today!  I get over to the treadmill there is NO stop key in it. My treadmill will not work without the stop key it.  THEN this is where I have to admit to myself, I haven’t used this treadmill in a very long time, and the last time I used it, the stop key was TIED onto the cross bar. So I asked the kids about it, of course NO ONE touched it, or has even seen it. At this point I would say my blood pressure was slightly raised, at this point I informed the kids we were searching for the key in their “play area”. I normally try to stay away from this play area, because it usually shoves me right over the edge of crazy because it is always beyond trashed out. I don’t know what I was thinking, because today it shoved me RIGHT OVER THE EDGE, I joined the crazy train! As I was helping the kids pick stuff up, I found some article of clothing stuffed under the couch, so I pulled it out, and it was a pair of Andrew’s underwear. Immediately I turn to him and say “WHY is your underwear stuffed under the couch?” The child looked me straight in the face and said “well, I sort of pooped in them so I took them off and stuck them under there”. Right about then is when my ears starting ringing because my blood pressure went STRAIGHT through the roof. He had not “pooped” in them but they did have a good skid mark. UGH, so that lead me to looking a little closer to the kids play area. As I looked, I found the crust (you know the hard part most kids will not eat) from pizza inside the coffee table; I also found pizza crusts in the small refrigerator, brownie crumbs all over the couch. Did I mention my blood pressure kept going up with each new discovery?
You guessed it; the OCD cleaning mom part came out in me. I pushed the couch and love seat back and out of the way along with the coffee table. I moved the rug and swept the entire area with the vacuum. THEN I broke out the carpet cleaner and cleaned the area rug, then I went over and cleaned the concrete with the carpet cleaner, and that’s when the kids probably knew I had lost my mind. I had them restack all the books correctly in the book case, at this point they were both walking around with trash bags in their hands picking up trash. After we broke out the fan to help dry the floor we moved all put the carpet back in place. THIS IS when, Ryan started asking if we were done, and I informed him OOOOHHHH NO we were not done. I had them stack their movies better in the DVD holders, I had them take ALL of their Wii games (after they located them of course) and put them on the empty shelves of the DVD rack since some movies are upstairs, I took and swept under the couch cushions and love seats cushions. Once that was completed Ryan started bugging me about being done, ONCE AGAIN, mom had her thinking cap on. I had them take antibacterial wipes and scrub down the couch and love seat. Neither of my children was happy with me at that point.
By this time I was pretty sure the play area was a LOT cleaner, and I was hoping they would learn something by having to clean the area up to “Mom’s Standards”. As Ryan and I are talking I look up and Andrew is jumping on the loveseat, I said Andrew WHAT are you doing? He answers back, “I’m jumping on the loveseat” well, guess I can’t say much to that, but I did say, I think you should stop, so he sits on the BACK of the loveseat where you would put your head. UUUGGGG. Ryan looks at me and says “Mom I have a question”, I said go ahead, and my oldest child looks at me and says “Mom, don’t you think that was a lot of cleaning just to find your key for your treadmill, why couldn’t you just use the other machine that’s over there?” I bit my tongue, and told the child I wanted to walk on the treadmill that’s why. REALLY, my nine year old asked that question. At that point Ryan then said “Mom, do brother and I need to go upstairs” of course I said yes.
Then fast forward through lunch I’m out on the deck reading my English Comp II assigned reading for today, and I get a text saying “time for school” yikes it was 4pm.  That was the world’s fastest shower and off to town we go. Get the kids dropped off, and get to school. Once I get in the classroom there is a classmate that is there talking about how she didn’t think it was fair how the teacher counted her absent because she was in class a total of 10 minutes, one day last week. Of course you know me, and my big mouth, “I said you wasn’t here, class is from 6pm to 8:15 pm”.  I SO have to work on keeping my mouth shut… I think she understood where I was coming from. I truly didn’t mean to offend her, I just wanted her to realize, 10 minutes is not 2 hours and 15 minutes of class. I was glad class went by fast tonight.
It was crazy I stopped by a friend’s house after class and Oscar had called me, and then Ryan had called me from the house phone.  MAN…. So, I get home an hour later, everyone except Ryan is sleeping in the rocking chair. Of course, Ryan is playing Mind Warp again. I eat, and say time for bed. Then everyone goes to bed, I come in here and start typing, and the WACs (Worthless Ass Cats) decide to go WWF on the bed beside me, all sorts of growling and hissing going on. Now they are both gone, and Oscar has come to bed, he is know laying beside me cutting all sorts of lumber up in sleep! (Snoring) so, I guess I should go put this up on the blog, and go to bed!

I hope you had a good giggle out of my day like I did….

Summer 2013

I do not know where this last semester went, but it is gone, LONG GONE! I ended the Spring semester with a 3.5 GPA meaning out of 5 classes I had 3 A's and 2 B's. Biology and Pre-Algebra were the B's. Luckily for me, these are only prerequisite classes and will not be considered when I apply for the nursing college. Both if the boys are now out of school as well. Ryan is going to a day camp that the school is sponsoring for a few hours in the mornings for a few weeks, Andrew and I will be starting on him being able to recognize the letters of the alphabet. I was a little sad that he did not learn this in preschool this year, but he didn't and I have to fix that.
I will be taking 11 hours over the summer. I am going to take 2 on line courses and English comp II will be at the college and so will my PCA+ class,  but that class will not start until July since I already have my CNA certificate.
We have the garden planted. I have spent the last two days tilling and pulling grass. It has been too muddy until now. We have had some good spring rains.
